Happy six-month anniversary to these lovebirds!

On January 11, I had the honor of capturing Aidan + Carlee’s rustic wedding day in Weatherford, TX at THE SPRINGS’ Westwood Hall, which is one of my favorite venues. If you know me, you know how much I love Texas (Texas Forever!), and I feel as if Westwood Hall does such a great job of celebrating the natural beauty of Texas, as well as providing the perfect combination of rustic + elegance. 

This couple is extra special to me because I grew up with Aidan’s family! His mother is an incredible English teacher and taught my 12th grade English class. She instilled such a love of writing and words in me, that I decided to major in writing! When Aidan reached out about wedding photography, I was so excited and immediately fell in love with his bride-to-be Carlee. She is so sweet and the two of them have such a fun relationship! Added bonus: because Aidan + Carlee booked over a year in advance, we were able to break their engagement photos up into two different sessions. I loved getting some of the late winter foliage, as well as the gorgeous may wildflowers in their photos. 

Days before the wedding, in true Texas fashion, we had a snowstorm! There was still snow on the ground around the venue, but I felt it was the perfect addition to a January wedding. The ceremony was held at the hall’s outdoor stone pavilion. Oftentimes, when shooting an outdoor wedding, the lighting can be tricky, but we had great cloud cover due to the snow. After putting on her dress, Carlee opted for a first look with her dad, as well as a private moment with her future in-laws.

The bride and groom also had a private moment together–without seeing each other–to chat, laugh, and pray before the ceremony. This was one of my favorite moments of the entire day and by the end of it, I was in tears. 

Carlee prepared so well for the cold weather! She had blankets and hand warmers for the guests and had a long fur cape for the outdoor ceremony. At the reception, she changed into the cutest custom denim jacket too! It’s so evident that the cold weather didn’t bother these two as they said their vows and became Mr. + Mrs. Hendershot (2.0)!

Following the ceremony and family photos, the sun came out just in time for Aidan + Carlee’s more intimate couple photos. Check out those perfect golden tones! We also sneaked away during the reception for some photos after the sun had already set. 

After first dances and toasts, the guests danced the night away! This was such a fun celebration, full of cake smashing, laughter, and games. An overflowing of joy for the newly married couple.

At the end of the night, the guests made their way outside for the grand exit!
