For those of you who don’t already know, I’m a teacher at a local private school. In fact, it’s my high school alma mater! I have the amazing privilege of teaching our senior school students photography, which is how I met Abbi. During my first year, Abbi always made me feel so welcome and definitely not like the “new” teacher. This girl is so full of life and always laughing. I look forward to Mondays because I know she’ll be leading us in worship with her sweet angel voice.

When Abbi’s mom reached out about booking Abbi’s senior session, I was so excited! Not only was I honored that they’d want to book me, but I jumped at the chance to spend time with this girl before she graduates. Her class is so special to me, and to say that I’ll sob the entire way through her graduation in May is a complete understatement.

Abbi had her heart set on shooting at the Lumen Room, which is one of my all-time favorite places! The natural light this studio provides can’t be beat. While planning the session, I encouraged Abbi to bring her siblings, because that was one of my favorite things about my senior session–including my younger brother. I loved that she showed up with her whole family! It was so great to capture not only her, but special moments between the entire family! It was also super helpful to have her dad and brother carry different furniture across the studio for us.

Abbi planned the cutest outfits for her session! She had the perfect mix of laid back and elegant, which was perfect for the studio. My favorite outfit was her black tulle skirt! Not only did the outfit give me serious Audrey Hepburn vibes, but it was such a perfect outfit to capture her gracefulness.

This girl heads off to college next fall. I’m looking forward to seeing how God uses her and her voice! It’s hard to imagine not seeing her (or hearing her boisterous laugh) in the school hallways next year, but God has some BIGGER plans for her!
