I absolutely love a good lifestyle newborn session! I believe these in-home sessions help mom + baby be more comfortable, which makes photographing the family a complete breeze. No one demonstrates this better than the Pafford family!

I’ve known Ryan for a few years (seriously, he’s the world’s best realtor!), so when he reached out about taking photos of his growing tribe, I couldn’t be more thrilled! As soon as I walked into their home, I felt so welcomed. Four-year-old Graham was especially excited to show me his room and trucks. Ryan + Bella wished to do an in-home session because it’s the perfect example of where they are right now. They wanted to capture Graham + Remington’s early interactions, as well as their sweet personalities.

My goal for this session was to bring a super casual vibe! I encouraged the family to wear what they normally would around the house. Bella even color coordinated all four of them, right down to Remi’s pacifier. I also didn’t pose this family too much; instead, I worked around their natural interactions. Memories around this time become hazy (hello, no sleep), so it was important for me to photograph their love of adding this precious family member. I always incorporate black + white images into my galleries, but while in the Pafford abode, I noticed a lot of B+W photos, so I focused the majority of my gallery on B+W. I felt very Richard Avedonesque. 

It’s so hard to pick a favorite image from this lifestyle session, but I’m obsessed with Remi’s nursery! Seriously, I want to add wallpaper to every room in my house now! I can’t get over the looks Dad + Mom give Remi in these images. I also love the way Graham interacted with his little sister. He’s already such a great big brother! He’s so sweet and gentle with her, and I’m excited to see how their relationship grows as the two get older.
